Runners and Co.
Faith
The main character of the game. She is a 24 years old Runner. Her sister was framed for a crime she did not commit and now she is hunting the people who did this. You will play as her throughout the entire game.
First seen: Mirror's Edge - Training Area
Kate
Kate is Faith's sister. She is framed for killing Pope, a candidate to become the city's next mayor, in the first chapter of the story. She is also a member of the City Protection Force.

Mercury
Faith broke into his apartment at an early stage in her life. Mercury saw something in her that he liked. He then took Faith under his wing and taught her the ways of being a Runner. He now guides her on her missions via some form of CB Radio.

Celeste
Just like Faith, Cel is a Runner trained by Mercury. In the first level of the game, she teaches Faith on how to use a Runner's moves to help progress through levels.

Drake
Drake is a tracker like Merc, but also a technology expert that develops ways of communication and tracking for the Runners. Thanks to him the Runner's technology is always a step ahead of the city. Drake guides Celeste during her missions.

Leaf
Leaf is another Runner. She is quick on hand to hand combat and uses the environment to help her. Her hobby is finding spots to hide bags and herself.

Kreeg
Kreeg is another Runner which Faith encountered with wounds.

Miller
Miller is Kate's boss. During the game, Faith seeks to Miller for information about Project Icarus.

Baddies
Jacknife
The origin of Jacknife is still unexplained, except that he used to be a Runner. His background story is unknown as of now.

Ropeburn
Ropeburn is a retired wrestler whose actual name is Travis Burfield. He owns a company that's name is his surname.
First heard: Mirror's Edge - Chapter 3, Heat

Police
There are four classes of police:
- CPF patrol cops (a regular policeman wearing a blue police force T-shirt)
- CPF riot cops (medium-armor type wearing mostly white armor with some black)
- PK SWAT units (heavy-armor police dressed out in complete black)
- PK Pursuit cops (medium-armor runner-like police dressed out in dark cyan with a baseball mask)
Note: most equipament as well as SWAT units and Pursuit cops are from the private security firm Pirandello/Kruger and not directly assossiated with CPF.
Other
Pope
Robert Pope was the city's running candidate for becoming mayor. He was assassinated in the beggining of the first chapter (Flight). The assassin rendered Kate Connors unconscious and used her gun, which have caused the city to accuse her of being Pope's killer.

Callaghan
Callaghan is the city's current mayor.
